Wildfires

May 9, 2016

What a terrible tragedy that unfolded in Fort McMurray last week. The damage sustained and the all of the people that will be affected over the years to come is devastating to say the least. Wildfire is in my opinion the worst disaster that can happen to anyone. We all need to take the time to find anyway possible to help just one family or person that is going through the process of trying to rebuild what they have lost.

Volunteer your time, provide much needed supplies or donate much needed cash to those who are rebuilding their lives. I always think of the waiting period that everyone is going through as our officials check all the homes and utilities that are essential before they return to any sense of normal in the city of Fort McMurray. I can imagine that sitting on a cot at a relief center is not the most enjoyable process and how tedious this can be.

What a wonderful city we live in and for that matter the province of Alberta. The offerings we hear from local business and city run facilities are to be commended.  Free Golf…Free waterpark …Free Telus world of Science… Free Muttart Conservatory…Free Valley Zoo…Free food at many restaurants …. Not to mention all of you offering rides for anyone needing them. Our Cities and Province are offering almost anything to try and help with the wait to return home and rebuild.

What a wonderful city and province we live in ………….Keep it up everyone, as the people of Fort McMurray try to rebuild from this terrible tragedy… This Wildfire will serve as a reminder how fragile our lives can be and how you can help any way possible to ease the burden of the people and families affected by it.
